About Me

Hi, I am Charmaine
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who runs my private practice in Clondalkin, Dublin, and online.
I have always loved working with people in various capacities, but my motivation to immerse myself in the field of counselling and psychotherapy is a passion for working with adults who, for various reasons, have had difficult lives. Having encountered countless diverse individuals, I have been privileged to hear many stories that encompass the greatness and bleakness of life. Observing the transformative effects of therapy inspired me to pursue training.
My firsthand experience in various aspects of life has cultivated a genuine empathetic nature that is simply untranslatable. I work integratively, as each client and their experience are unique. It may be under the same umbrella, but everyone experiences life differently. I draw from the core behavioural (reviewing unhelpful behaviours and thoughts) and humanistic modalities (letting you lead sessions as we explore your world), making sure to understand each client's lived experience.
I am a fully qualified, pre-accredited psychotherapist with a BSc (Hon.) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP. I have just completed the training for the Accord Certificate in Couples and Relationship Training and will be working with Accord to ensure I am continuously developing. I work in accordance with the standards and ethics under the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland (APCP).
