About Me

Hi, I am Charmaine
I am an accredited integrative counsellor who runs my private practice in Naas, Kildare and online.
I have always loved working with people in various capacities, but my motivation to immerse myself in the field of counselling and psychotherapy is a passion for working with adults who, for various reasons, have had difficult lives. Having encountered countless diverse individuals, I have been privileged to hear many stories that encompass the joy and pain of life. Observing the transformative effects of therapy inspired me to pursue training.
My firsthand experience in various aspects of life has cultivated an individual who wants to not only help people understand themselves, but aid them in understanding how they got there and what actions they have control over that can aid their current circumstances. I work integratively, as each client and their experience are unique. It may be a common theme, but the client is individual in their experiance. I draw from the core behavioural (reviewing unhelpful behaviours and thoughts) and humanistic modalities (letting you lead sessions as we explore your world), making sure to understand each client's lived experience. It is an introspective experiance, with an outside perspective.
I am a fully qualified, accredited therapist with a BSc (Hon.) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP. I have just completed the training for the Accord Certificate in Couples and Relationship Training and will be working with Accord to ensure I am continuously developing. I work in accordance with the standards and ethics under the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP).
