FAQ
1. Does psychotherapy and counselling differ from one another?
Counselling, in general, is frequently used to describe a situation in which a client is working on a specific issue that is occurring in their life right now and requires brief intervention.
Psychotherapy is frequently used to describe situations in which clients work on problems that may have their roots in past events but are also affecting them in the present and may necessitate more in-depth investigations.
Clients are the ones who ultimately determine what they want to work on, and therapists are trained to work in accordance with their needs and desires.
2. How long does a session last?
Based on a maximum of 50 minutes for individual and 60 minutes for couples counselling, the counselling sessions occur weekly at the agreed times.
3. How frequently will I have to attend?
Weekly sessions are typically conducted to help the client gain a more thorough and expedited understanding of their experiences. In some cases they may take place on a fortnightly basis by agreement.
4. Is counselling confidential?
Counselling and psychotherapy are totally confidential services in almost all situations except where mandated. The Child Protection Act, for example, safeguards the rights and welfare of children and minors, so it is crucial to note that in some situations, moral and legal obligations must be taken into account.
